Thank you for the people at River Club. Thank you for those that want to be a part of the core which means they want to be fully devoted followers of your Son, Jesus. Thank you for the commitments made this past Sunday evening. Thank you for the people coming forward to be a part of your ministry at River Club. We praise you, Lord. You are faithful. You are true to your every word. You do the impossible.
Put before us your definition of love. Help us to embrace this love as a part of our very being. Your “love is patient, it’s kind; it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Your love never fails.” Your love is comprehensive. Make it comprehensive in our hearts. In the areas we struggle with, increase our faith, for it takes great faith to live this kind of love. We are so human sometimes, and we often react in our human state. Forgive us, Lord for not relying on you. Help us choose the faithful way.
Fill the hallways, the classrooms, the speakers from the pulpit, the worship center, the staff, the spiritual leaders, the various teams in our church with a biblical love. We pray that this love would fill our surroundings like an over soaked sponge, so that it will flow into all who walk through our doors and all who meet us in our communities. We pray each person who calls River Club their home would be moved by your Spirit to love in this way. Love is a gift; I pray we don’t squander it or revile it. Teach us to love like a friend who is willing to lie down their life for another.
In Jesus name,
